Research

How do people of different cultures think about students, teachers and schooling? How do these views maintain or disrupt the status quo in our nation and world? These are the central questions that inspire my research and practice in the field of education. I conduct research on these questions and on related topics, including past and present educational reform efforts in the United States.

At present, I am contributing to academic research led by Professor Christina Ciocca Eller of Harvard University about the inequality in higher education. I have also connected research and practice for new schools in St. Louis, MO and Stockton, CA on topics including school climate and culture, school discipline, and educator recruitment and retention.
